My Husband Suffers From Acid Reflux. He Can Not Eat

My husband suffers from acid reflux. He can not eat late in the evening, etc. He ate soup with noodles in it about 7:00 pm and started having gas pains. By 8:30 he let me know that his hands and fingers are itching very badly and moving up the forearms. He has no benadryl on hand only claritin. He took 1aspirin, vytorin,cq10 and a metoprolol 25 mg with water earlier. Now cramps are starting. These episodes have happened before and we have never gotten any answers from our doctor. Spouse works out of town. Any suggestions
