My Husband Takes Metroprolol, Gabapentin And A Low Dose Hydrocodone

My husband takes metroprolol, gabapentin and a low dose hydrocodone with acetaminophen for RLS and atrial fib/blood pressure. He has a painful kink in his shoulder,a don I'm wondering what he can take in terms of pain meds. I'm thinking ibuprofen is best and to avoid acetaminophen. Help?
