My Husband Took A Bad Fall Several Days Ago. A

My husband took a bad fall several days ago. A contractor, he fell off a kitchen island hitting his leg and top of his head. What started as a ugly bruise on the side of his leg is now black and blue in a large band (about 8 inches) around the leg, We have no insurance so he's stubborn about going to the hospital. Can this be an embolism?
