My Husband Was Playing Baseball A Week Ago And Thought

My husband was playing baseball a week ago and thought he had pulled his groin. About 3 days later he noticed large bruising on his inner thigh and back of his thigh from the knee to the groin area. The color of bruising ranges from light red to almost black in color and covers most of his thigh area on his left leg. Should he go to emergency?
