My husband was taken to er with chest pains and diaphoresis 4 months ago. Studies showed moderate mitral regurgitation, aortic valve sclerotic with stenosis, moderate aortic valve regurgitation, moderate aortic stenosis, mild tricks pid regurgitation with increased pulmonary artery pressure of 38 mmh, poorly visual pulmonary valve. They did a nuclear stress test without treadmill, MRI, watched him overnight then sent him home. About a month ago same symptoms, I took him to a different hospital, they did EKG, then heart cath. He was transported to another hospital and had to have triple bypass, 2 arteries were 70% blocked and another 99% blocked, and aortic valve replacement. Could this have been possibly prevented and stints used instead of bypass if first hospital had done heart cath? Or could it progress that much in 4 months?
