My Husband Was Taking Effient After A Recent Heart Attack

My husband was taking effient after a recent heart attack two months prior. The veterans hospital does not have this on their formulary. They prescribed clopidogrel bi sulfate 75 MG instead. Are these the same medications? He has been doing well on the effient. Does he stop taking the effient and start the other?
