My Husband Was Watching TV; When He Stood Up To

My husband was watching TV; when he stood up to walk his left foot is swollen on the sole of his foot. It looks like a jack ball was inserted into the sole of his foot up by his smaller toes. There is no swelling in the ankle or toes or anywhere else; just this one small area. It looks bruised (bluish) under the skin.
