My Husband, Who Is On Warfarin Because Of Blood Clots,

My husband, who is on warfarin because of blood clots, has just had a bout with a severe nose bleed that started on it's on. He thought he had a runny nose until he went to wipe it. It would not stop and I went through the way I had learned about nose bleeds since I had the problem because of veins being close to the surface of my nose. He had taken the warfarin about 10 pm, which was late for him as he is supposed to take it at 6:30 pm. Should I do anything else as right now he has an ice back across his nose and his cheeks to cause the veins to shrink down. I had him close off the bottom fleshy part of his nose for 10 minutes also and it seems it has stopped. I just worry about it beginning again. My husband is 76 yrs old.
