My Husband With Type 1 Diabetes Started Vomiting Last Night.

My husband with type 1 diabetes started vomiting last night. It has continued throughout today and is now dry heaves. He has tried eating saltines and drinking a bit of water but those have not stayed down. His blood sugars are within normal range. He has not recently been exposed to anyone that is ill. My question is whether there is something that will stop the nausea and heaves. He reports the room is spinning when he moves his head. It is the weekend so his doctor is not available.
