My Left Ear Canal Feels Like It Has Hardened Wax.

My left ear canal feels like it has hardened wax. There is pressure and sound is muted. The thing is, my face was exposed to poison ivy, and my earlobe on that side is swollen and red. Could this just be swelling due to contact dermatitis, or is the poison ivy just coincidental? Not being able to hear as well in that ear is driving me nuts
