My Left Thumb Might Have An Infection.. It Was Chapped

My left thumb might have an infection.. it was chapped from the cold, it is swollen a little is ozing a little. This is right behind the nail of the thumb. Would like to know what to use? I have tried lotions, vaseline and put a bad aid over it ... it feels better in the am but it starts all over again
