My Leg Cramps Are So Severe Sometimes They Last 6

My leg cramps are so severe sometimes they last 6 hours. Right now I am having one in my right thigh that began at 6pm and went down to my ankle. They are so painful it brings me to the point of tears. I am taking a drug called Tizidene (sp ?) but the side affects are not great.
