My Little Boy Fell On A Stick & It Went

My little boy fell on a stick & it went I his upper thigh. That was 2 days ago & even though I've been keeping it clean with peroxide & Neosporin & keeping it covered with a band aid it looks worse. I feel sure it is now infected. Today it has pus which is new today & red all around the outside area. It is Friday & his dr won't see him until Tuesday afternoon. Should I take him to the e.r. or is there something more I can do?
