My Mom Is 77 And She Says It Feels Like

My mom is 77 and she says it feels like her ribs are sinking down and moving together. I know she has some spinal deterioration. Is this the same sort of thing? Is there anything that can be done or medication she can take to ease the pain and discomfort?
