My Mom Is 82 Years Old...her Blood Sugar Has Been

My mom is 82 years old...her blood sugar has been quite high...her family doctor changed her to levemir insulin lately. She was taking humulin 30/70 before. Still the levemir after a month is not controlling her blood sugar. She was recommended to take 55 units daily in the morning upon rising....Mom is wondering if she should go back to humulin since levemir doesn't seem to make any difference in lowering her blood sugar...what is your recommendation?
