My Mom Says She's Feeling Better From Her Hip Surgery

My mom says she's feeling better from her hip surgery in the hospital, and she has a surprise for me and Mike and even though she tells me she doesn't know or hopes she's coming home today or any day, she said we'll have lots of fun together, so she doesn't want me to be sad, because she doesn't want to speak the real truth yet because it's a big surprise. Can you tell me what this all means? She was there for 3 days this week having surgery and stuff, because she is getting fully recovered now? Thank you.
