My Mother Consulted A Doctor Few Months Before, N Was

My mother consulted a doctor few months before, n was told that there is a hole in her ear drum..n nowadays pus is coming from her ear n so much pain she is having with fever..we again consulted a doctor n he gave ibrufen n augmentin..
Is that serious??
