My Mother Dropped Hot Coffee In Her Lap 2 Weeks

My mother dropped hot coffee in her lap 2 weeks ago. She went to emergency room and they gave her silvadine. She then followed up with her primary doctor her put her on antibiotics as well. This Friday will be 3 weeks since it happened. As of this morning; the area was reddish black and oozing. Is this normal ? She has an appointment with her primary doctor this Wednesday for a follow up.
