My Mother Had Spinal Surgery Over A Month Ago And

My mother had spinal surgery over a month ago and has suffered bladder problems ever since. She now has a catheter as her only means of being able to urinate. What should she be advised to do to restore the normal bladder function that she had before she had the operation ? Please help !?!
