My Mother Has A Blocked Artery In Her Groin. The

My mother has a blocked artery in her groin. The first hospital appointment she had tests and scans and they told her the problem. The doctor she saw said they would do a procedure and she’d be able to leave hospital in a day or two.

She had another appointment today, the doctor was very rude (my mother smokes) and he told her it will be a year before she can have surgery. My mother explained she is having real trouble walking and also after she drives she’s in pain. The doctor told her she should order her shopping online. That is what he said.
Is there any other help that she can get, because the nhs doctor she saw today was an insult to the medical profession. Would it be worth asking for another doctor and shall we just try and pay to have it done privately?
