My Mother Has Alcoholic Cirrhosis. We Slowly Are Getting Answers
My mother has alcoholic cirrhosis. We slowly are getting answers and today at the GI her resting heart rate was 119, taken 3 times in our 45 minute visit. She is wheelchair bound with a major ankle fracture as well. She has not had a drink in over a month, but in that month has put on 20+ pounds of fluid weight, mostly in her abdomen. Ultrasound again on Friday as well as getting some of the fluid out of her belly. My question is about the high heart rate and how it factors into all of this? I don't need kid gloves, I've been aware for years that my mothers liver would fail and I think even if she stays sober she may not have long enough to even be considered for a transplant.
