My Mother Has Dry Mouth And A Very Bad Taste

My mother has dry mouth and a very bad taste in her mouth. It was suggested she drink throat coat tea (it has slippery elm (ulmas rubra)). She takes the following meds: atenolol, losartin, norvasc, synthroid, nexium, Xanax; might there be any harm with her drinking the herbal tea?
