My Mother Has Gone Into The Hospital With Back To

My mother has gone into the hospital with back to front pain. They diagnosed gallbladder and pancreatitis. Her labs came back at 11,000 and normal is 500. She is not sure exactly what test this is for and what excactly the high number is meaning. Can you help explain. They did tell her that her ultrasound came back hot
