My Mother Has Had A Colostomy For 18 Years And

My mother has had a colostomy for 18 years and suddenly is having a vaginal discharge which is sticky looking and kind of brownish and today had a yellow/brown discharge which was thin and watery coming from her rectum??? Could this mean bowel may have perforated. She was given a suppository earlier in day inserted into colostomy which has been done in the past with no results like this, just making her have a bm.
