My Mother Has Major Depression Past 3 Years With One

My mother has major depression past 3 years with one manic episode when taken off avanza without weaning/decreasing does so was diagnosed with bipolar. I however am not sure if it was just that avanza should not have been stopped so quick. Now back depressed since January, avanza increased to 45mg and epilim ceased but remains majorly depressed. I don't know what to do for her, she barely talks or moves, states 'blackness' in her head and negative thought only, looks terrible barely eats. seeing mental health team who feel as not suicidal she's going well. When if at all will avanza work?
