My Mother Is 72 And Was Recently Diagnosed With Type
My mother is 72 and was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. She has been given a medication called glimepiride, and has been on it for several weeks, possibly a little more than a month. She is experiencing SEVERE mood swings - and what she calls Acute Moods - she says when she's Happy shes abnormally happy, when sad abnormally sad, when frustrated abnormally frustrated, etc. I have also noticed some pretty obvious confusion when talking to her; and she seems to be getting worse daily. Could the diabetes meds be lowering her blood sugar too much; and could low blood sugar cause her severe moods?
