My Mother Is 76, And She Has Been Having Some

My mother is 76, and she has been having some weird symptoms. About a week ago when she woke up she said her left arm from the elbow down went numb. She said it felt like rubber. On another occasion her head started pounding and it felt like she could hear her heart beat in her head. On another day her whole arm started feeling like rubber again. Today she said it happened again in her head and into her shoulder. This has all happened on her left side. She has seen her doctor and he order a head scan but no one has contacted hear about the scan as of yet. I'm really worried about her, should someone be with her at all times, should I take her to the hospital? I don't know what to do. Please help.
