My Mother Is 88 Years Old And Came Down With

My mother is 88 years old and came down with shingles about 2 weeks ago. She is in hospice and a nurse has seen it . My question is , she now has it spreading all over her back and down between her buttocks . can shingles spread like this I thought it stayed in one area . She is in alot of pain .
