My Mother Is 93 And Has Osteoporosis. With A Spine

My mother is 93 and has osteoporosis. With a spine fracture years ago she was given daily shots, in the abdomen for 1 1/2 years. Her condition improved and no further treatment was ordered. I believe the max a patient can receive is perhaps 2 yrs. She has old fracture sites in one of her ankles which is now failing greatly with arthritic changes and osteopenia? Would Strontium be a possible consideration?
