My Mother Is Currently Suffering From Viral Encephalitis. She Is

My mother is currently suffering from Viral Encephalitis. She is on acyclovir inj currently. Though, the reports for HSV 1 and HSV 2 were negative, doctors concluded that she has herpes viral encephalopathy (based on herpes blisters above lips). She currently remembers everything. However she cannot speak properly and also on bed from many days. Doctors said they will continue treatment for some days and then will see the extent of recovery after 3 months. The will also start physiotherapy and speech therapy soon. I would like to ask if treatment going in right direction. Other thing, as reports were negative from PCR, is it indication that it might not be so much severe? Could we expect a full recovery as she is able to remember everything.

Thanks
