Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother passed away a little over 4 weeks ago. She had lung cancer, however, had no breathing difficulties throughout her entire illness which was comforting for us. My sister, father and myself were with her when she died. I suppose I am searching for answers as I found the whole thing quite traumatic (rattling and blood coming out of her mouth). We had had a palliative care nurse with us in the early evening, who had told us what to expect. It did not prepare me for the gurgling or mostly, for the fact that blood came out of her mouth. I can't help but feel that we should have had her in hospital - and did we make her suffer more than she should.
