My Mother Passed Away Yesterday And She Was Diagnosed With

My mother passed away yesterday and she was diagnosed with gram positive cocci in chain bacterial infection in her blood. She had a LOT of other medical issues, was 87 years old, and we decided to NOT treat the infection or do the testing to determine if it had affected her heart valve because the test was too invasive. However, she had a cough for over a month. She lived in my house. What are the changes I have caught this bacterial infection and what are the symptoms? I have been going into uncontrollable coughing fits with a post-nasal drip for at least two months. How serious could this be?
