My Mother Stopped Taking Her RA Meds Over 2 Months

My mother stopped taking her RA meds over 2 months ago, she is 70 and has had to be hospitalized for a severe infection. How long does it usually take for the RA meds to work again? She's very weak and in severe pain, and is now suffering deep depression.
