My name is Kristina, on 3/2/15 I slipped down a cement staircase and broke my right ankle, two bones..I had surgery the following day...plates and screws. I remained in the hospital for 1 week and then transferred to the hospital rehabilitation, I was there 3 days shy of 2 months. I was discharged home with home nursing and visiting physical therapy. It has been over a year, I still walk with a limp, have ankle pain w/numbness and cramping..also having knee pain, both left and right. About 3 weeks ago my legs started getting weak, I was able to walk using a cane and ignored it. Over the last week 1/2 the weaknesses is getting incredibly worse with pain, lower back and legs. I can not walk too far..15-20 steps before it gets to the point that I feel like I am going to go down...I get very shakey..have to take multiple breaks just to get to my car. Has me confused and a bit scared, I worked in the medical field but still have no idea what is happening. I do know the hospital did not do a neuro check nor any other xrays or mri's of my spine..I did have a black eye and horrible bruising on my buttocks. Any ideas? Anything I can do to try and get my strength back? Could this be happening due to my fall? I have tried to reach my orthopedic surgeon..have an appointment mid September, tried to move it up with no luck. Please help me...I truly don't know what to do. Thank you, sorry for rambling!
