My Now 29 Year Old Son Had ITP And Low

My now 29 year old son had ITP and low platelets and white blood count 12 years ago. He just had a cbc and a again has a low white blood count. The GP suggested he see a hematologist and the appt is in two weeks. He has had tonsillitis and then thrush for about the last four weeks. Should we be doing something else. Because of Thanksgiving we do not have a copy of the CBC blood work so are going by a phone conversation only. We do have his counts from years ago to compare with the new ones.
