My Orthopedic Surgeon Wants Me To Try A Clonidine 0.1

My orthopedic surgeon wants me to try a clonidine 0.1 mg. patch going into knee replacement surgery to control RSD flare up. My BP has always been low. I have macular degeneration and just went through treatment for bladder cancer. I am not confident going into surgery where sedatives are used wearing a clonidine patch?
