My Parents Told Me That As An Infant I Was

My parents told me that as an infant I was treated for my "eyes going flat". It still happens now that I am almost 50. I will wake up in the mornings and you can look at my eyes and see that the iris is flat with the white part of my eye. When my eyes go flat I can feel a difference in my eyes. It is usually my left eye that does it. I have asked several eye doctors and they shake their head and tell me they have no idea what I'm talking about. Do you know what this is?
