My Partner Has Just Been Rushed In And Has Had

My partner has just been rushed in and has had a bowel operation and his small bowel is outside but we have recieved a follow up appointment for rectoral surgery but this was too late as he has already had an op does this mean he has got cancer as he cant remember what the doctor told him
