My Period Is 5 Days Late. Had Some Spotting Last

My period is 5 days late. Had some spotting last week but was very faint and only happened once. I've been on different types of pain meds and also have taken 2 pregnancy test both negative. Could the pain pills make my period late or do I need to take a blood test.
