My Psychiatrist Has Me On Imipramine Fro Depression And Panic

My psychiatrist has me on imipramine fro depression and panic attacks and constant anxiety. He has told me that I need to give it three weeks at least before I can feel better, however I read comments from others that claim it worked right away for them. I am just getting impatient. Is three weeks something I should have faith in and wait for?
