My Question Is About My Son Who Is 38 And

My question is about my son who is 38 and has had ADHD DX all of his life but his wife and I are thinking he may have Bi Polar disease because he has been on Adderil V and it is not really stopping him from having rages at us all and wanting to buy everything and not able to even listen to us when we are talking he interrupts and talks very loudly and we think he may need a different medication. Can these be symptoms of Bi polar disease and how can he get diagnosed correctly?
