My Question Is Another Relating To The Perineal Area. I

My question is another relating to the perineal area. I felt a soft swollen area with my fingers while showering. There's been no pain or itching, but upon viewing it with a mirror, it seems pretty puffy & red. I have been inactive sexually for over 10 yrs, and am 59 yrs old. Will make a Dr. appt next wk, but am very concerned right now. Are there common "un-frightening" causes of such a thing?
