My recent test results shows that I have osteoporosis. An endocrinologist told me about two solutions for this; a shot every six months, or a pill taken on a regular basis. Osteoporosis runs in my family. I have no other real health issues and currently take no prescriptions. After reading about the side effects of these medications, my question is which is the best choice? The endocrinologist says the shot is best, but she may be biased toward that because she'll be getting paid for administering the shot. Whereas, the pill would be prescription I'd pay for at the pharmacy. So, really, which is best for me, as the patient?
