My Retinologist And Ophthalmologist Both Do Not Recommend Restasis For

My retinologist and ophthalmologist both do not recommend Restasis for my chronic dry eye, but my optometrist does. What are the pros and cons of using it. I have macular degeneration in one eye and my eyes burn and hurt a lot, so I want to preserve the vision in my good eye as long as possible.
