My Right Knee Suddenly Started Swelling About 3 Weeks Ago

My right knee suddenly started swelling about 3 weeks ago and now my right ankle is swollen and also bruised. I don't recall injuring my knee or ankle. There is some tenderness in my ankle but not the knee. I am 66 yrs. old. Is this something that happens with age or something I should be concerned with and see a doctor right away?
