My Roommate Says He Is Seeing An Infectious Disease Doctor.

My roommate says he is seeing an infectious disease Doctor. He has respiratory problems and he said he has some infection/rash/growth on his face. His Doctors are talking about putting a catherator in hisheart to pump some form of antibiotic. Should I be concerned for my health. He has lived here a couple months. I already have asthma and this past week I have developed a respiratory issue and couch, not asthma related.
