My sister was diagnosed with cancer and slipped fell and went to the er to make sure she was fine. Well they did an mri and from there kept her a week. Put her on a diet that was not reg. food. Sent her home. She ate reg. food and was fine from Thursday to Sat. On Sat am she was throwing up from the side-affects of the meds that was diagnosis for bone cancer. She was admitted on Sat am to give IV and Sat pm she started to be weak and drwosy from what they gave her for the stomach pain. A family member over heard them say they was going to give her morphine. She asked for pain meds but not morphine. My family is either allergic to morphine or low tolerance. another brother was given that and died in 2 days. Progressively and fast. Well Sat pm she was sleeping a lot. Sunday, she was woke but in a glaze look and husband said she said only 2 words. Hi and when asked if she wanted pain meds she said yea. Not morphine. She does not like meds we the family does take a lot of medicine, By Monday she was in critical condition. Kidney and liver not working , then tubes were put in and her heart rate incrased to 150 and the hospital said it may kill her if they brought it down too fast. By 10:00 her heart rate was dropping fast. I called back at 11:30 and it was at 37 down to 36 and was told it never came back up and no one jumped started it she just died. What are the side affects if you are allergic to morphine or did not get food for 2 days and only had a carton of milk both days. Was dehydration a cause and morphine on empty stomach? I need answers. How do you walk in a hospital throwing up and 2 days later you are gone. My family needs to know details.
