My Son (16 Yrs Old) Has Had Two Peritonsillar Abscesses

My son (16 yrs old) has had two peritonsillar abscesses and just finished his 3rd round of antibiotics. From immunology bloodwork he has a specific immunity deficiency (pneumonia-strep). He did have ADEM about seven years ago and I (his mom) have MS so there if definitely concern about his immune system. The immunologists wants to five him the pneumococcal 23 vaccine but I am hesitant as I am concerned the vaccine will be sending more bacteria into his system and I want to wait until he has had his tonsils out which is scheduled in about a month. Adding to all these decisions is the fact that we are scheduled to leave the country for Costa Rica in 4 days. Should I get my son vaccinated now or wait?
