My Son ( 20 Yrs ) Was Chewing On A

My son ( 20 yrs ) was chewing on a round piece of plastic, the cat was on his lap and clawed him causing him to swallow the plastic he was chewing on. He is breathing fine and could eat and drink. Now 5 hours later he is having abdominal pain when he is standing. But lying down he is fine. I feel he needs to go to the ER but hubby thinks he can wait to see if he passes it. Should he 1. Go to the ER. 2. Wait till morning and see the doctor or 3. Wait to see if it passes. I am concerned that he is have abdominal pains and it's tearing his intestines up. Please help. Thank you in advance.
I am asking for help why do you have to take advantage of someone in need.
