My Son 7years Old Is Having Tonsil And He Has

My son 7years old is having tonsil and he has recurrent tonsil 3-4times per year.3days before he got wet in rain and from that day he has fever and coughing and sneezing.I waited for 2days but he is not feeling well.Dr on diagnose basis suspected of typhoid and wrote ceftriaxone if for 3days bd.I don't want him to take iv what is alternative drug in reconstituted suspension dosage form.plz suggest.also Dr did not do any lab test before prescribing.
